Johor Business association Meeting 2008 Dec

I was invited by our Skudai Businessman Association chairman Mr Wong to joint the meeting for the Johor Business Association. During the meeting , our skudai association is selected to organize a Dinner party for 2009 CNY for our future Deputy PM Muhidin. This is a good opputunity for us to show our capability of our association for the influencing power in Johor.

let see how it work for feb 2009. cheers

Johor Gerakan Youth Installation

I was surprised that i was elected as media & IT head, technically should be no problem, but i was not participating the OCT 2008 election and some how rather have baned by some powerful man in the johor party , (that what i heard from someone).

Anyway since we have elected as the committee member, we shall work hard to bring the party to move forward (anyway today Gerakan have no more lobang, more people cabut than joint the party), is a good time to test the loyalty of member .

economy crisis , how bad is our country Malaysia ?

Everyday, when you read news is about economy bad bad bad , here retrench there cut cost and so on..................

Malaysia government yet to take any necessary to bail out or to cover the problem, i believed that it maybe due to UMNO election for next year, as far as i concern Malaysia is very much rely one palm oil and petrol for export, however, up to date our beloved Malaysia government have not yet disclose the problem we face, funny right ?
Singapore government have took so many step to cut and cut cost, even the minister have no choice to cut their salary, the government of Singapore even guarantee the bak deposit.....

many company have facing a financial problem, last time or rather old time, people like to work for bigggggggggggggggg company, they feel proud and so called yaya. But to day big company is going into deep shit, USA have GM,Lehman brother,AIG,ford and many others like UK, Swiss,Germany and so on. So today working or doing business is not so easy.

more people will stress, who else will care about the politic when their stomach is hungry ?

Human never have enough?

I understand from some opposition leader or supporter blog, they like to condemn leader and party, instead of proposing more ideal and opinion to improve Malaysia.

Lets compare with our neighbor, Indonesia, how you think indonesia ? Do you know Indonesia chinese and indian hardly speak mandarin and tamil ? why? they have no freedom to speak their own language, so sad.

Lets compare singapore, malaysia have pure chinese and tamil school, singapore majority chinese , but never have a single one tamil and chinese school.

Sometime we need to learn to appreciate , everyone make mistake, we need to give them a change to change, last 308 have teach BN a good lesson, but do you think voter is 100% support opposition ?

I not think so, some of them not even know who is candidate. they just vote for frustration.

I think BN will change, i am a Gerakan member, i feel the change, others BN party i not sure. UMNO have change a bit. we can feel it. OM adullah agreed to step down, this is a signal for change.

But i really hate corruption, everyone know the fact malaysia have serious corruption, is one of the worst country in the world, this really need to be change.

Oh my GodI I don’t criticize UMNO?

I’ve criticized UMNO and especially the home minister until I got an email warning from the authorities to cool down.

Please read what I have written since the ISA arrests on Sep 12/13.

Unbelievable that that you would say that I don’t criticize UMNO.

When I met PGRM president, he introduced me to the other members present that this guy is someone who wants to join us but he can’t stand the smelly UMNO. And I didn’t say that once to him but I implied that.

I believe that noting will change in this country unless UMNO changes. I only attack Gerakan because it still thinks that UMNO will solve all the problems of our country by itself without any pressure.

Tonight, I had drinks with an old friend of mine from school whom I’ve not seen for 32 years (since form 5).

He told me that he made his way up to UMNO branch chief in Penang but he got fed-up with the ‘bandits’ within UMNO before 12 GE.

He left in 2006. Not yet in opposition but no more blind support for UMNO.

Now how long do you think UMNO will last if their members are abandoning them? How long do you think Gerakan will last with all the sweet proclamations of rebranding, reforming, etc? But still continue to remain friends with UMNO/

I do not know what goes on behind close doors for you Gerakan guys but it is definitely not enough for us the angry rakyat!

In the past, when people questioned the Government about ISA, Najib said, “Critize the US’s Abu Ghraib prison before you wanna criticize ISA.” When US expressed their concern about ISA detention, our ever almighty Najib replied the same thing.

What has this bring us to? It seems like we prefer to direct the criticisms to others without bothering to understand the rationales behind. This mentality is dreadful, and I regret that someone just cannot get it.

Oppositions only know acting? Funny, Lim Kit Siang has devoted his entire life in fighting for democracy, equity, fair, justice, etc. And you blatant biased and non-sensical accusations are UNFAIR to all our country heroes. Any apology here?

Self-proclaimed in contributing SO MUCH to country? So, let’s us share what you have contributed, my dear friend.

No disrespect here, but I hope to see more insightful posts but not childish accusations here.

Romerz: Do not let a party minnow hamper your passion and aspirations in contributing whatever you have to the party and the country. Sometimes, some people just can’t have the large-enough perspective to appreciate it. And I believe Si Pin agree that your input is much appreciated.

MY REPLY:

Hello ryan, if you really brave enough like romerz show you identity, there is useless shouting behind and hidden yourself, i believed you also always criticized us on shouting inside BN but never confront with UMNO, but you seen to be worst than us, right.

Sorry to accuse romerz on not criticize UMNO , UMNO really need to change, otherwise next election we all will gone. People are observing DAP, PKR working for next few years. I not think they can perform well, they use to criticizing people instead of contributing for all passed year.

I really hope that our future PM Najib can really work out something. I am a Skudai resident, if you really need to see what I have done, please log in to http://www.youtube.com/user/gerakanskudai , i have movie to prove i am working hard for Skudai election on 308, but unfortunately we lost, i really sad, if you did not see me in the movie , i am the one who take the movie, i have encourage and proposed so hard to Gerakan center committee about how important of IT in politic, i have attended the Youth cc meeting and proposing Sdr Mah. I even critizied Dr koh about ignoring the IT influencing power in Malaysia politic (personal meeting). NOW i see the changes, they have start to use youtube ,facebook and other IT media to tell people that we are working.

I am the boss of 35 staff, i always tell them that if you work hard you need to tell me otherwise i would not that you work hard right ?

Sametime in politic, we, Gerakan work dam hard, but never tell people, DAP different from us , they work a bit and publish like hollywood big movie .

Why shall we work hard and keep quiet ?

Now i think they have change, before me Dr Hsu have ever mentioned this to center , but they seen to be not convinced, this round maybe they lost in 308, and i just happen in right time to shooting and shouting out this problem. I more than qualify to sound out this IT exposure, because i am a IT man, started my company www.akyweb.com 10 years ago in Singapore and Singapore have recognized me with honored me a Spirit of enterprise award in 2006. pls log into http://www.soe.org.sg/files/06_40.htm.

I not asking anything from party even i have developed a nation website (demosite) http://akyweb.com.sg/gerakan/ , wanita http://akyweb.com.sg/gerakanwanita/ and youth.
All this is waiting after the election, I still waiting for the green light to live it. Nation one is already done, wanita and youth is waiting approval. All this in no cost 100% free of charge.

So ryan, what you have done for party and nation ?

Party election done what is NEXT?

For passed few months our party leader busy campaigning around the whole Malaysia, Party election is done.what is next ?

Most leader fighting for the post for himself or for party or for nation ?

I really hope our leader stop fighting each other and start to work for our nation. this is the time to start to rebuild the people confident against our party.

Hello our Gerakan new leader, this is the time to show your contribution and work. The most important is not to fight each other in party.

The most important is to show to our fellow Malaysian how much we contribute to the nation. 308 we have lost , and we almost loss everything. next 3 years our elected leader PLSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS wake up and work well to gain back the malaysian vote.

I believed if we really work hard for them , in next election we shall win back all our seat , regardless state or parliament. Stop saying who is chief minister, work to be a chief minister OK

Party election done what is NEXT?

Lim Si Pin won Because his Father?

obviously this election may have some people is happy and some does not. But this is democracy country and our party respect democracy as well. Hence i hope whether you lost or won , i really hope all of us can work together, the senior generation is unlikely to change the Gerakan, even they keen, the environment do not allowed to do so.
10 years down the road i believed Gerakan want to gain back the good result as before 308 is not really that easy. hence the fact is that the youth, the young generation really need to work hard, regardless is 10 years or 20 years, i believe our generatio will ha ve a good hope to gain back the result as before 308.

Since Lim Si Pin have won as chief youth , Everyone please stop talking him and his father. A lot of people claiming that Si pin in politic is because his Father. For me i think maybe if Si Pin whithout his father , he may growth faster than what he is now.

As Prime Minister of Singapore Lee sien Loong ever mentioned n the press, if Lee Kuan Yew is not his father , he can be Prime Miniter even much earlier.

Since our Party is democracy, hence i hope everyone should respect the democracy, Lim Si Pin have won the sit of chief Youth , let give him the full support.

online cheating in JBtalks.cc issue-i have something to talk

I am a young bird in Politic but is a old bird in IT, through out passed 10 years at online IT, my company have developed more than 2000 website and portals.

JBtalks.cc is a forum and not a ecommerce, the newspaper have stupidly published out that so call online trading in fact is not a ecommerce. I think our Malaysia media especially the Chinese one should really understand what the hell they are trying to publish.

JBtalks.cc is a forum which let people to exchange talks, since it have mentioned is a talks forum so it should not be a online ecommerce.

the story is simple, the culprit published a announcement saying that he have a kangtao(cheap staff) stock, a sony notebook and PDA at cheap price,he asked people to bank in the money to his victim bank account (which that culprit using online friend bank account by paying each day RM50.00).

So when buyer bank the money to the victim bank account the culprit withdrawn the money from ATM machine and just disappear. (i just wondering in this world have poeple so stupid to pass an ATM card to people, funny right ? or human is greedy?)

So this is not so call ecommerce OK, it just like a traditional business. the only thing is that they communicating using forum.

The online ecommerce pay online using payment gateway like paypal, world pay or etc, which is secured, if the stock that purchased does not delivered , the payment gateway will refund to buyer. this is call e-commerce and is secured, myself have bought more than 10,000 usd dollar staff from ebay, so far so good, never been cheated.

Malaysia Online IT is 10 years back from singapore and yet the press still publishing such a negative news and misleading the public, so call this is ecommerce or e-shopping, how........... the malaysia online solution can be developed. In USA online trading or ecommerce is a common staff not a big deal, just wonder why the malaysia press have misleading public that the above transaction is so call ecommerce, really funny........ I really hope that malaysia press do more research and study before jumping to the conculsion that this is so called ecommerce................haiz

cuil.com a new search engine is banned by more than 10,000 sites

Be careful while you debug your crawler...

Cuil.com
Cuil (pronounced [kuːl], "cool", according to the creators) is a search engine that organizes web pages by content and displays relatively long entries along with thumbnail pictures for many results. It claims to have a larger index than any other search engine, with about 120 billion web pages.[1] It went live on July 28, 2008.

I doubt it will be take over the big 4 search engine , this search launching date, the server is hang and down for more than 3 hours............. a big joke right hahah.

Cuil's privacy policy, unlike that of other search engines, says it does not store users’ search activity or IP addresses.

Cuil is managed and developed largely by former employees of Google (or we can call it google betrayer hahaha): Anna Patterson, Russell Power and Louis Monier, who has since quit the company. The CEO and co-founder, Tom Costello, has worked for IBM and others. The company raised $33 million from venture capital firms including Greylock and i think the most it can last for 3 years.

the search startup have run a rather high rate crawl when they were getting started that generated a large number of robots.txt bans.

A well-behaved crawler needs to follow a set of loosely-defined behaviors to be 'polite' - don't crawl a site too fast and too heavy, don't crawl any single IP address too fast, it pull too much bandwidth from server. downloading tons of full res media that will never be indexed, meticulously obey robots.txt, identify itself with user-agent string that points to a detailed web page explaining the purpose of the bot, etc.

Apart from the widely-recongnized challenges to building a new search engine, sites like del.icio.us and compete.com that ban all new robots aside from the big 4 (Google, Yahoo, MSN and Ask) make it that much harder for a new entrant to gain a footing. However the web is so bloody vast that even tens of thousands of site bans are unlikely to make a significant impact in the aggregate perceived quality of a major new engine.

My initial take was that this had to be annoying for Cuill. As a crawler author, I can attest that getting each new site rejection personally hurts. But now I'm not so sure. Looking over the list, aside from a few major sites like Yelp, you could argue that getting all the forum seo's to robots exclude your new engine might actually help improve your index quality. Perhaps a Cuill robots ban is a quality signal?

Our saudara blog become so quiet ? WHY?

Recently i observed that those normally busy posting blog, have slow down, why ?

1.busy for party elction ?
2.scared offending people ?
3.nothing to talk ?
4.or quit Gerakan already / hahahi hope not so.

Anyway the cyper space of communication is very important, i hope all of you can start posting your politic opinion after the election.

to leave or to stay

Recently a lot of friend asking me about gerakan to leave or to stay in BN. In fact i am still young bird in Politic, even though i had been blocked twice in 2 term state election. Maybe my destiny or politic luck is bad- i always sited wrong site HAHAHA. Maybe my politic concept is different, hahaha, but nevermind this is politic....

However, through out this 2 term of election i learn, i really learn especially this round of election, for passed few terms of gerakan election(we are strong in General election) hence, i am not really can see who is a real person which really faithful to the party.

This round of election, mean so much for me. we lose with guts, all the saudara who still remained in the party really the one is faithful to GERAKAN (i hope so), i really appreciate it.

Back to topic to leave or to stay in BN ? I think very much depend on UMNO, if our brother still acting like no body business, i think we should leave, what for be a beggar in BN, we should have guts to leave and stay independently.

If UMNO really change......................, than we should at least observe by end of this year. Even UMNO is doing wrong, but i think we should give change to people to change. Do not jump into conclusion that they are 100% wrong.

Anyway i really hope whether from top to the bottom of party ,after this internal election every saudara can back to work together and really satu hati........

The party election should not be a reason for seperation

the party election is a reason to show the democracy and to choose a right leader for current moment, however a lot of people trying to use this opportunity to kill their own saudara. From the north to the south of Malaysia such circumstances is unavoidable. Does our party matured enough to show our fellow malaysian that we are democracy enough????????????????

From the point of view of general public in Malaysia, POLITIC is DARK. this is unavoidable fact that we should accept, but a lot of leader still insisted that such strategy is acceptable in traditional Malaysia politic environment.

Everything is change, the only thing in this thing never change issssssssssss ?
the whole world is changing. We have to be growth in our mind set, but some traditional politician still using old style , everything talking about mutual benefit regardless of public and party interest.

We joint politic for public services, not for individual interest. If the old style of politician remained such a mind set i should ask them to do business. This should be a right way to earn money, not in politic please.........

Recently, our own party having state election, i hope such thing never happen in our party, even though any party is losing , i hope our SATU HATI can really take effect.

Adsense: The Best Website for Adsense

Adsense: The Best Website for Adsense
Adsense: The Best Website for AdsenseA question even more asked, could be:
What is better to use Adsense on a blog or a website?
But, let's first talk about more fundamental things, such as:
• What is a good website in general?
• How do we choose a theme?
• Will the theme of my website attract many visitors(traffic)?
• How do I give value to the visitor?
• Am I passionate about the topic of my website?
• Will Google accept or decline my website?
• Do I put Adsense ads on it from the first day?
Maybethese questions are not written in the good order, but we have to takethem in consideration before we go ahead and put some crappy website onthe net, with nothing useful on it. We even ask ourselves, why we arenot succeeding to make revenue from Adsense ads.
So, first of all we have to determine what theme we will choose for our website or blog. The next question pops up and says:
How do we choose a theme?
Tomake things easier for us we will choose a theme that we are interestedin or even passionate about. That way we will not easily fall in astate of procrastination.
Will the theme of my website attract many visitors?
Tobe able to know that, we will do a search in the search-engines typingour theme within quotes. The number of competing websites will tell usthat it will either be easy or difficult to rank for the main'keywords' of our website. However choosing long-tail keywords(ormultiple keyword phrases) will bring up less competing websites andmake it easier to rank for those 2 or 3 word phrases.
How do we offer value to the visitor?
Ifwe are passionate about a topic we will put more effort in the creationof our website and be able to offer much more value to the visitor. Wewill have more basic knowledge about the topic. This will make iteasier for us to create content to publish on our website. Very oftenwhen your theme has something to do with your hobby or your job youwill be able to write enough unique content with the knowledge youalready have about the subject.
Will Google accept or decline my website?
Toknow that we will have to find out what Google expects from an Adsensepublisher. Google wants you to deliver a complete website that offersinformation that is relevant to what the searcher asks for in thesearch-box on the page of the search-engine.
Google gives morevalue to a website that offers unique and fresh content. Content thatis not written by a software application, but that reads like a humanhas written it.
In addition the website will be well structuredand display a menu with text-links to other pages in the website withrelated content and information about the webmaster, including contactinformation. Doing the above will help you to be accepted for theGoogle Adsense program easily.
Do I put Adsense ads on my website from the first day?
Actuallyit is not a good idea to start displaying Adsense ads right away. Themost successful websites are those with a history of offering goodsolid information to the visitors. Having incoming links from high PRdirectories and important websites related to the theme of thewebsites. Having the ads on your website could form a barrier forwebmasters of authority sites or directories to create links to yourwebsite, because they could have the impression that your only goal isto earn revenue from the ads instead of offering quality content to thevisitor.
A good idea would be to start building your website asdescribed above. Continue offering good information and building linkswith high PR and authority sites until your site has been indexed byGoogle and displays it on the first page for most of your keywordphrases.
After that you can start to monetize your website withthe Google Adsense ads. At that time you will have the right visitorsto your website that are interested in the theme of your website andalso in the titles that the ads display. In addition you will haveenough traffic to make a decent amount of money from the Adsense ads.
Inconclusion it is important to maintain the hard work that is necessaryto keep growing your website with unique content related to the themeof your website. The traffic will grow slowly but sure and as a resultyour Adsense revenue will grow too.

Gerakan’s Tan ‘joins’ Pakatan (Another gerakan Politic FROG)

Gerakan’s Tan ‘joins’ Pakatan
By DHARMENDER SINGH and CHRISTINA TAN, (another politic frog again ?)

SHAH ALAM: Datuk Dr Tan Kee Kwong became the second Gerakan leader to take up a post with an Opposition-led state government. (why must he joint the PR government to serve selangor people ? I think there is many way to do other than helping our opposition )

The Federal Territory Gerakan chief and former Deputy Land and Cooperative Development Minister was named as co-chairman of Selangor's special task force on land issues.
"Gerakan feels I have no value in terms of serving the party and the people"- DATUK DR TAN KEE KWONG (Are you sure ? Gerakan is big, you have jump to the conclusion that Gerakan do not want your services, than in much earlier you should not joint Gerakan, or should resign before 2004 GE and not in this moment, when the party facing problem)

Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim said the other co-chairman was former Land and Cooperative Development Ministry secretary-general Prof Datuk Dr Nik Mohd Zain Nik Yusof.

The appointment of Dr Tan means he will now be working for the Pakatan Rakyat state government. ( Than he should be call a running DOG for Gerakan)

Last month, Gerakan deputy secretary-general Lee Kah Choon accepted the Penang government's offer to take up the posts of InvestPenang executive chairman and Penang Development Corporation director. Lee later quit Gerakan. ( I think Dr tan should quit as well, he should quit much earlier if he is a man and have guts, not after 2008 GE, what the hell when the party have problem, all this frog leader jumping around)

Khalid said Dr Tan and Prof Dr Nik Mohd Zain would head a six-member task force that would study the management of land in Selangor and related policies, issues and problems before submitting suggestions for improvement. (I think khalid is trying to weaken our Gerakan by pulling more of Gerakan leader, i just wondering, why this experience frog leader can without the consciousness to joint and helping enemy during our party have problem, where is you heart ? )

“We decided to appoint the two men for their vast experience in land management. Dr Tan served as the deputy minister from 1999 to 2004 while Prof Dr Nik Mohd Zain was secretary-general from 1996 to 2002,” he told a press conference after chairing the weekly state executive council meeting here yesterday. (Bullshit, your purposes just to further weaken our strength)

Dr Tan said he would not resign from his Gerakan post after taking up the special task force co-chairman position. (than Gerakan should fire you )

He said news of his appointment was announced at 6pm yesterday, adding that no party official had called him to seek clarification over his decision to work with the Pakatan Rakyat state government. (than you wait lah................)

Dr Tan said Khalid, whom he has known for more than 20 years, contacted him two weeks ago with the offer to head the committee in an area which was vital but also most lacking in terms of efficiency. (than you should joint PKR 10 years ago not now)

“I said yes to the offer because I joined politics to serve the people and country. The post provides me the chance to continue this work while Gerakan feels I have no value in terms of serving the party and the people,” the 61-year-old politician said when contacted last night. (rubbish, when we joint politic to serve people may not necessary holding any post to help people OK)

He said he also had a lot of respect for the first-time mentri besar as he had highlighted and worked to solve many of the issues that many before him had failed to address.

The task force would start work in two weeks, Dr Tan said, as the other members had yet to be picked.

It will have three months to submit recommendations to the state government. (you better do not pull our gerakan member again)

Tsu Koon to play mediator role

Tsu Koon to play mediator role

GEORGE TOWN: Small and medium industries (SMIs) in Penang that are facing problems can look up to former Penang Chief Minister Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon.

State Gerakan SMI bureau head Michael Heah said they could forward their grouses to the Federal Government through Dr Koh.

“Dr Koh will use his connections to channel their grievances to International Trade and Industry Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin,” he said at a press conference at the state Gerakan headquarters here yesterday.

Heah said the 3,000-odd SMIs in the state were in the dark over what was taking place in the state under the new state government.

He urged the state to work closely with the Federal Government to attract foreign investments and formulate strategies to collectively tackle difficulties and overcome challenges.

He said many foreign investors were adopting a “wait and see” attitude to ascertain whether the political scenario in the state was stable.

“We are facing intense competition from Asian countries. The increase in the price of raw materials and rising manpower costs has affected many SMIs in Penang.

“Some have closed down and relocated to other countries,” he said.

He said the Federal Government should continue assisting SMIs in Penang although the state was governed by Pakatan Rakyat.

The press conference was called to announce the CEO Tips Coffee Talk that will be held at Paradise Cafe near Queensbay Mall on June 5 at 7pm.

Dr Koh will be speaking at the talk themed “Challenges in the Time of Change”.

Entry to the talk sponsored by HSBC is free. Seats are limited to 100 participants. For registration, call Ng or Matthew at 046462020 before June 1.

Gerakan retools itself to get back in mainstream politics

Gerakan retools itself to get back in mainstream politics
By ROYCE CHEAH

KUALA LUMPUR: Gerakan will be positioning itself as the party of choice for all Malaysians under a rebranding effort that it hopes would bring the party back to mainstream politics.

At the party's 40th anniversary on Sunday, Gerakan acting president Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon said the party's mission was to build a united and democratic nation.

"In order to achieve this, we must consolidate, evaluate, motivate and rejuvenate the party."

Dr Koh said three thrusts would be undertaken, one of which was to voice Gerakan's ideology and policy position, and to advocate a Malaysian solution for major issues.

"The other two is to rebuild, rebrand and re-empower the party at all levels to effectively serve and represent all Malaysians and by doing so, to win the people's hearts and minds while regaining their mandate."

Dr Koh said the party was at its most challenging crossroads following the dismal results of the March 8 general election.

"Most of us are dejected or demoralised but we must keep telling ourselves that we are down but definitely not out," he said.

Dr Koh said after meeting with grassroots members over the past two months, the picture was clear that the members wanted Gerakan to continue.

"A few may have gone astray. We can understand that. But we will keep fighting because we believe we are still relevant to the people."

He added that Gerakan had to quickly understand the new political environment and that politics now had moved from being racial-based to being issues-based.

"That is exactly what we are fighting for, but somehow we ended up on the other side.

"In this case, what is good for the country is negative for the party but it confirms that this is the way forward and we definitely have a role to play."

He added that Gerakan would execute its plan via eight strategies consisting of broad plans to expand and consolidate membership while rebuilding the party in Penang.

"One of the ideas is to provide a more flexible structure by opening cyber branches so that Malaysians overseas can also participate in the party," he said.

From Dr M resignation to a nation Economy and politic problem......I worry Malaysia future

Dr M resignation will further weaken the Malaysia political stability, from the economic point of view, as a normal citizen we are worry about the current global problem like commodity price is raising , obviously the Oil is the main issue. USA have a sign of economic downturn already, this will be impact to Malaysia sooner or later. The former Deputy PM of Singapore Dr Tan had warned Singaporean to be get ready for the next economic turmoil.

Dr M, Sanusi quit Umno is a personal vendetta with Abdullah?(do this help UMNO and BN?)

Dr M, Sanusi quit Umno (is a personal vendetta with Abdullah)

ALOR STAR: Former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and veteran party man Tan Sri Sanusi Junid announced Monday that they are quitting Umno. (I think Dr M , Old already, he can't wait to see the chnage, the change need time DR M, even you do not have time , you should not give a earth quake to UMNO and BN)

Dr Mahathir Mohamad announced this on Monday at 12.35pm, citing a lack of confidence in the current leadership. (Than in the first place why Dr M choose Badawi? a good and senior leader is telling us such a naive comments, i think they may have personal problem, instead of choosing wrong leader as Badawi)

"I am quitting Umno today," he told about 1,000 people, mostly Kedah Umno members, at a talk here on Monday. (than we should celebrating the senior leader retirement)

"I will write a letter to Umno headquarters to inform that I have quit the party," he said. (remember promissory estoppal OK)

He has been critical of his appointed successor Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, blaming the current Umno president for the party's disappointing performance in the 12th general election. (than how, as Pak lah to retire? or Dr M want to make the whole Malaysia to chaos ?)

The ruling Barisan Nasional coalition, of which Umno is the largest component party, won the March 8 election with a simple majority, and saw four more states join Kelantan under Opposition rule.

Dr Mahathir urged other party members to quit too, as a way of pressuring Abdullah into vacating his post. (Than the whole Malaysia go to hell, we need a peacefull Malaysia , not a chaos Malaysia OK)

However, he advised those who do quit not to join any opposition party, adding they can all rejoin the party once there is a change in leadership.(are Dr M promoting PKR ? or PAS ? why not promoting Gerakan ?Hahah)

Abdullah has so far refused all calls for him to step down, and said he would defend his presidency in the party polls in December.

Sanusi, who is a former Kedah Mentri Besar, also quit the party on Monday.

PM Abdullah: Shocked
Meanwhile, Abdullah said he was shocked by the decision and, despite their differences, had not expected him to leave.

However, the beleaguered premier said he would stay on and fight for the party.

“Perhaps some other members might leave too, but this won’t entirely affect the party. It all depends on whether the rest want to stay on and continue to fight for the party too,” he said.

In KLANG: Former Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo said Dr Mahathir’s decision will affect public perception of Umno’s strength and possibly discourage youngsters from joining the party.

Many of those aged below 40 years grew up during Dr Mahathir’s premiership and hold him in high regard. ( I think so, but am not)

“Dr Mahathir’s resignation will have a huge impact on the trust that this group of people, including the Malays, have in Umno and its capability to lead the country,” he said.

He said youngsters wanting to join the party now might also shy away as questions would be raised on Umno’s ability to be effective as a party.

“These youngsters might not join other parties but they will stay away until Umno can mend the current situation and avoid splits in the party,” he said.

In PUTRAJAYA, Home Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar said it was a bad time for Dr Mahathir to quit Umno as the party was going through a difficult period.

He said the resignation would not help in efforts to rebuild Umno.

"He is doing more damage than good; whatever it is, the party is still looking for a new direction and we need everyone to remain united and not split," he said.

Syed Hamid expressed fear for the future of Umno because Dr Mahathir had a great influence and a person of his stature could rattle and destroy the party.

Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Shahrir Abdul Samad said Dr Mahathir's hatred for Abdullah was seemingly stronger than his love for Umno.

He said the former premier should realise that asking others to follow his footsteps would only make it easier for Pakatan Rakyat to take over the Federal Government.

"What he is saying is that if you love Umno, leave Umno -- it does not make sense," he said.

Shahrir also said that Jerlun MP Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir should be the first to take up his father's suggestion to quit.

Umno information chief Tan Sri Muhammad Muhammad Taib said he was surprised at the decision, but added that it was Dr Mahathir's right to do so.

"Every member has the right to join or leave the party," he said.

Asked if Umno would convene an emergency meeting, the former Umno vice-president and Selangor Mentri Besar said that "we will wait and see."

The next Umno Supreme Council meeting is scheduled to be held within two to three weeks.

Urged to reconsider
In IPOH, MCA secretary-general Datuk Seri Ong Ka Chuan called on Dr Mahathir to reconsider his decision.

Speaking at a press conference after a Wesak Day celebration at the Malaysian Buddhist Associatino (Perak branch) hall here, Ong said he was saddened by Dr Mahathir's sudden announcement.

Barisan Nasional was currently facing a huge challenge and his decision would not benefit Umno and the coalition, said Ong, who is also Housing and Local Government Minister.

As a former Prime Minister, his words carried weight and would affect all levels of the people including party leaders, he said.

“We do not hope for any more problems and neither should we create more,” he said. “Our country needs stability and not uncertainty. His decision would paint a bad impression for the rakyat (citizenry) and foreign investors,” he added.

Lumut Umno division chief Datuk Dr Zambry Abd Kadir also urged Dr Mahathir to reconsider his decision.

“I feel very sad with Tun's decision to leave the party. It should not have happened in the first place,” he said.

Dr Zambry, who is also Pangkor assemblyman, said Dr Mahathir was a great leader who provided a sense of direction and ideas for the party and country.

The problem involved a former president and the present one, he said, adding that it so happened that the predecessor had appointed the current one.

“So it is a complex issue,” he said, adding that the current leadership must immediately find ways to overcome the problems in the party.

Dr Zambry pointed out that it was not unprecedented for former party presidents to quit Umno, adding that Dr Mahathir was the party's fourth president to leave the party.

The other three were the late Datuk Onn Jaafar, Tunku Abdul Rahman and Tun Hussein Onn, he added.

In PETALING JAYA, Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said said Dr Mahathir's decision would not solve the problems faced by the party and would instead give more strength to the Opposition.

"At this time when the party is under stress, all parties including leaders and former leaders must work together to heal Umno so it becomes firm and strong," she said.

In MALACCA, Umno veteran and stalwart Tan Sri Aziz Tapa, 85, said that he was shocked at the news and was at a loss for words.

“How can it be when he (Mahathir) says that he loves Umno? I met him only few days ago in Johor and everything seemed okay. What he is doing is not right,” he said when contacted here on Monday.

Umno supreme council member Tan Sri Rahim Thamby Chik described the move as an "interesting but tragic development" for Umno.

"It's shocking news to me. If true, then I would say that it is an interesting yet tragic development for the party,” he said.

Reacting to Dr Mahathir's resignation, Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said, “This will weaken the party at a time when it is facing its enemies.”

Dr Mahathir joined Umno at its inception in 1946.

He became a Member of Parliament in 1964 when he won the Kota Setar Selatan seat.

He lost the seat in the following general election in 1969.

Following the May 13, 1969, riots Dr Mahathir was sacked from the Umno Supreme Council on July 12 because of the widespread distribution of his letter to first Prime Minister Tunku Abdul Rahman criticising Tunku’s manner of handling the country’s administration.

Dr Mahathir rejoined Umno on March 7, 1972 and was appointed Senator in 1973. He relinquished the senatorship post a year later to contest the Kubang Pasu seat in the general elections. He was returned unopposed and was appointed Minister of Education.

In 1975, Dr Mahathir became one of the three vice-presidents of Umno.

Tun Hussein Onn appointed Dr Mahathir Deputy Prime Minister on Sept 15, 1978.

Dr Mahathir was Prime Minister of Malaysia from July 16, 1981, until Oct 31, 2003.
